Chevy’s High-Performance EV SUV is Here
The 2025 Chevrolet Blazer EV SS is about to hit the streets, delivering even more power than originally promised. Surprisingly, Chevy has kept the price at $61,995, including the mandatory $1,395 destination fee. That’s $3,500 less than the originally announced price, making this electric SUV an even better deal for performance enthusiasts.
More Horsepower, Faster Acceleration
Since its debut, Chevy has been fine-tuning the Blazer EV SS. Initially rated at 564 hp and 684 lb-ft of torque, its numbers increased to 595 hp and 645 lb-ft in late 2023. Now, Chevy has finalized its power output at 615 hp and 650 lb-ft, solidifying its position as one of the fastest electric SUVs on the market.
That extra power translates into serious speed. With Wide Open Watts (WOW) mode, the Blazer EV SS rockets from 0-60 mph in just 3.4 seconds. While it’s not as track-focused as the Hyundai Ioniq 5 N, which starts at $67,475, it still delivers thrilling acceleration for everyday driving.
Range, Battery, and Charging
The Blazer EV SS is equipped with a 102-kWh battery, the same as the RWD RS model. However, official EPA range estimates have yet to be confirmed. For reference, the AWD Blazer EV RS offers up to 324 miles, but the SS’s higher power output will likely result in a lower range.
Charging details remain unchanged, with DC fast-charging capabilities and compatibility with existing charging networks. Chevy’s Ultium platform ensures strong efficiency and performance.
A Stronger Comeback for Chevy’s EV SUV
The Blazer EV had a rocky start, with software issues forcing Chevy to pause sales in late 2023. However, with improved performance, a stable price, and lineup updates, the 2025 Blazer EV SS is set to make a strong return. Chevy has also introduced a base front-wheel-drive version to offer more variety across the lineup.
