2025 Lexus TX: Luxury SUV with Hybrid Power Options

The 2025 Lexus TX is back for its second model year with few changes, but it continues to impress with multiple powertrain options. Available in non-hybrid gasoline, hybrid, and plug-in hybrid versions, this three-row SUV blends luxury with efficiency, catering to drivers who want style, power, and fuel economy in one package.

Hybrid Power with F Sport Performance

The Lexus TX 500h hybrid comes in two trims: F Sport Performance Premium and F Sport Performance Luxury, priced at $70,010 and $73,160, respectively (including a $1,350 destination fee). Both models feature all-wheel drive as standard.

Powering the TX 500h is Lexus’ Parallel Hybrid system, shared with Toyota’s Hybrid Max. This setup combines a 2.4-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine with a 6-speed automatic transmission and two electric motors. One motor is positioned between the engine and transmission, while the other drives the rear wheels. Together, they generate an impressive 366 horsepower and 409 lb-ft of torque, offering a smooth and dynamic driving experience.

Plug-In Hybrid with Extended Electric Range

For those seeking more electric capability, the TX 550h+ plug-in hybrid is offered in a single Luxury grade trim priced at $78,560. It also comes with all-wheel drive as standard and uses a 3.5-liter V6 engine paired with Toyota’s well-known planetary-gear hybrid system. This setup delivers a robust 404 horsepower and offers an estimated 33 miles of electric-only range.

Once the battery is depleted, the TX 550h+ achieves 30 mpg combined, making it a solid choice for both short electric commutes and long-distance trips. Lexus expects these figures to remain consistent with the 2024 model ratings.

Big Luxury, Bigger Space

Built in Indiana, the TX is designed to serve as a spacious alternative to the midsize Lexus RX while staying smaller than the massive Lexus LX. It offers more interior room and a boxier design, appealing to families or drivers wanting a larger SUV without sacrificing luxury. Functionally, it plays a similar role to the Toyota Grand Highlander Hybrid but with Lexus-level refinement and features.

With its range of powertrain options and luxurious interior, the 2025 Lexus TX continues to cater to a wide audience, whether you’re after fuel efficiency or top-tier performance.
