Lucid Slashes Prices by $22,500—But There’s a Catch

Lucid Slashes Prices by $22,500—But There’s a Catch

Lucid Goes Big With May Discounts

Lucid Motors is pulling out all the stops this May. The California-based luxury EV maker is offering a jaw-dropping $22,500 in discounts on its Air sedans. This isn’t a gimmick—but it’s also not as simple as slashing the sticker price. Buyers will need to meet a strict set of conditions to claim the full savings.

$22,500 Off the Air Touring—If You Qualify

The biggest deal applies to the 2025 Lucid Air Touring, which typically starts around $90,000. To get the full $22,500 discount, customers must lease the vehicle for three years, make a $5,389 down payment, and choose from in-stock inventory only.

Lucid combines several incentives to reach that total:

  • $10,000 Air Credit
  • $7,500 federal EV tax credit
  • $4,000 Tesla trade-in bonus
  • $1,000 pickup bonus for collecting the car at a Lucid store

There’s a catch: the Tesla trade-in bonus is key. Without it, the deal drops to $20,500. That’s still substantial—but it assumes you own or lease a gas or hybrid vehicle. Importantly, you don’t need to trade that vehicle in.

Trim-Level Deals Vary

The Lucid Air Pure, starting at roughly $70,000, offers up to $20,000 off if trading in a Tesla, or $18,000 for owners of competing brands. It delivers 430 horsepower and 420 miles of estimated range.

The Touring, priced about $10,000 higher, adds a second motor and boosts performance to 620 hp with a 0–60 mph time of just 3.4 seconds. Its range drops slightly to 406 miles.

The Grand Touring starts at $111,000+ and features 819 hp and 512 miles of range. Lucid is offering a $17,500 discount on this model, again only with a Tesla trade-in.

As for the Sapphire? No deals. That 1,234-hp rocket stays at full price.

Big Sales, Bigger Push

Lucid is fresh off a record-breaking quarter with 3,109 deliveries, up 28% year-over-year. The pressure to maintain momentum is real. These stacked deals could help—but not without raising eyebrows about future resale value.
