Shop, Charge, Go: Mercedes Expands EV Network

Charging While You Shop? Mercedes Makes It Happen

Mercedes-Benz is flipping the EV charging script. In a bold new partnership with Federal Realty Investment Trust, the luxury automaker will roll out over 500 ultra-fast EV charging stalls at some of the most popular retail destinations across the United States.

And here’s the best part—it’s not just for Mercedes drivers. These new chargers will be open to all EV owners, regardless of make or model. It’s inclusive, high-speed charging with a luxury twist.

From Parking Lot to Power Hub

The initial phase kicks off with 20 key locations, including busy shopping centers like Camelback Colonnade in Phoenix, Lawrence Park in Pennsylvania, and Pembroke Gardens in Florida.

Each site will feature up to 10 charging stalls, offering Mercedes’ signature 400 kW ultra-fast speeds. That’s enough to deliver hundreds of miles of range in under 20 minutes, depending on the vehicle.

All stalls will support CCS-1 and NACS connectors, ensuring compatibility with nearly every new EV on the road today.

Charging, Reimagined as an Experience

Andrew Cornelia, CEO of Mercedes-Benz HPC North America, said it best:
“EV drivers want more than just kilowatts—they want convenience. Charging should fit into daily life, not interrupt it.”

By placing chargers in high-traffic, familiar places, Mercedes is turning downtime into value. Grab a coffee, run errands, and return to a fully charged ride. It’s all about making charging seamless.

Scalable, Sleek, and Customer-Focused

This isn’t a small pilot program. It’s a portfolio-wide infrastructure strategy. Federal Realty offers proven, high-performing real estate, while Mercedes brings the tech and $1 billion in investment.

Together, they aim to create a premium charging experience that blends style, speed, and accessibility.

The Road Ahead: 2,500 Stalls by 2027

Mercedes-Benz High-Power Charging currently operates 400+ stalls in 14 states. With this new collaboration and 2,000 more in development, Mercedes is racing toward 2,500 total stalls by 2027.

Charging is evolving—from a chore to an experience. And Mercedes wants to lead the charge.
