Audi Plots Its Electric Comeback
Audi is preparing a major brand reboot—one that begins with an all-new electric sports car. Slated to debut in concept form this September, the model will position itself between the iconic TT and the high-performance R8.
CEO Gernot Döllner calls the launch Audi’s “TT Moment 2.0.” He hopes it will mark a design and identity shift for the brand. More than just a sleek coupe, this new EV is meant to reignite passion among drivers and fans.
It will be revealed just before the Munich Motor Show and is already confirmed for production by 2027.
Not a TT, Not an R8—Something Boldly New
“This is not a TT, not an R8, but something in between,” says Döllner. Audi is staying quiet on the specs, but the mission is clear: blend excitement, design, and accessibility in a modern, fully electric form.
Audi sees this car as more than a halo product. It’s a symbol of where the brand is headed—a future defined by emotion, agility, and clean energy.
Built for Speed—and Built to Matter
While technical specs haven’t been released, the car is expected to ride on Audi’s PPE platform. That’s the same architecture used by the Porsche Macan EV and upcoming 718 EV. The setup suggests high-performance credentials with sharp handling, low center of gravity, and quick acceleration.
Yet Audi wants more than performance stats. They want this EV to feel alive—to make you care about driving again.
More Than a Car—An Identity Shift
Audi admits it has fallen behind in the EV race. This car is their comeback symbol. It isn’t just about competing—it’s about standing out.
We’ll see the concept very soon. And if it delivers, it may be the spark Audi needs to define its electric era—for good.
