Porsche EVs Unlock Tesla Supercharger Network This Month

Porsche EVs Unlock Tesla Supercharger Network This Month

A Major Update for Porsche Drivers

Porsche EV owners just got access to one of the most powerful charging networks in the world. Starting September 9th, drivers can connect to Tesla’s 23,500+ Superchargers across North America using a Porsche-supplied NACS DC adapter. This instantly adds thousands of reliable fast-charging options, easing range anxiety for Taycan and Macan Electric drivers.

Smooth Rollout and Added Convenience

Initially, charging will work through the Tesla app. However, Porsche says integration with the My Porsche app and full plug-and-charge support will arrive soon. Timo Resch, President and CEO of Porsche Cars North America, emphasized that convenience is the goal: “This news represents a significant step for owners of our electrified cars.”

Who Gets What and When

The rollout is simple and consumer-friendly. Starting with the 2026 model year, all Taycan and Macan Electric models will ship with the adapter included at no extra cost. Owners of 2025 Taycan and Macan Electric models will also get the adapter for free. For older Porsche EVs, access will require purchasing a $185 adapter, which Porsche has listed as “coming soon.”

Expanding Charging Options

Later this year, Porsche’s in-car navigation and charger-finding software will be updated to display Tesla Superchargers on its maps. That means drivers won’t need to switch apps to find the nearest fast-charging option. This seamless integration shows Porsche’s commitment to making charging as effortless as possible.

Why It Matters

Until now, Porsche EV drivers were limited to smaller public charging networks, often plagued by reliability issues. With Tesla’s Supercharger network now available, Porsche drivers gain access to faster, more consistent charging. It’s a breakthrough not just for Porsche, but also for the EV industry as a whole. More cross-brand compatibility means better infrastructure for everyone—and it raises the bar for what EV owners should expect.
