Luxury EV, Now with a Wild Discount
Mercedes-Benz is offering a jaw-dropping $50,000 discount on the 2025 Mercedes-Maybach EQS 680 SUV, making it the largest new EV discount of the year. This “Mercedes Incentive Bonus” slashes more than 25% off the sticker price. If you’re shopping high-end electric, this deal is nearly impossible to ignore.
And it’s not stopping with 2025 models. Even the 2026 Maybach EQS SUV is getting a $23,000 price cut, showing that Mercedes is eager to clear the decks before its next-gen EVs arrive.
Still Luxe, Still Pricey
Even after the discount, the 2025 Maybach EQS starts at around $130,000—down from its original $180,000 MSRP. That’s still a lot of money, but for Maybach-level luxury, tech, and interior elegance, it suddenly looks like a deal.
Mercedes is also offering $10,000 off the standard EQS Sedan and SUV when paying with cash, or $10,500 off when leasing. So if the Maybach is out of reach, the rest of the EQ lineup is on sale, too.
EV Inventory Clearance Mode
Why the massive discounts? Mercedes seems keen on moving inventory fast before launching its next wave of EVs, like the upcoming CLA and GLC electrics. Earlier this year, the automaker even paused production of U.S.-bound EQE and EQS models.
The brand has admitted its first-gen EQ styling—often compared to a “jellybean”—missed the mark with some buyers. The next models will feature more conventional design to appeal to a wider audience.
Ignore the Looks, Enjoy the Interior
Critics may not love the exterior, but inside, the Maybach EQS is still a rolling palace. With a $50K discount, design might suddenly matter a lot less.
A Glimpse of a Shifting Luxury EV Market
This bold move signals more than a clearance sale. Legacy brands are now adapting fast to an evolving EV market, where high sticker prices no longer guarantee sales. With rivals like Lucid and BMW offering leaner, more targeted luxury EVs, Mercedes is clearly pivoting—even if it means discounting its crown jewel.
