A Game-Changer for In-Car Entertainment

Sony and Honda are redefining electric vehicle tech with a feature no gamer saw coming. Their joint EV venture, Sony Honda Mobility, has announced that the upcoming Afeela EV will support PlayStation Remote Play.

That means you can stream and play your PS5 or PS4 games directly from the car’s infotainment screen—whether you’re parked or riding shotgun. Road trips just got a lot more entertaining.

How It Works

The Afeela’s built-in display will connect to your home console via a broadband connection. All you need is a minimum 5Mbps internet speed, though 15Mbps is recommended for smoother gameplay.

Simply grab your DualSense controller, link to your console remotely, and continue your game session from anywhere. From RPGs to racing games, your titles are now more mobile than ever.

Not Just a Concept

Sony Honda Mobility previewed this gaming-ready EV at CES 2024, and the excitement hasn’t slowed down. The Afeela 1 is scheduled for delivery in 2026, and it’s no longer just a sleek electric car—it’s a rolling entertainment system.

This move also highlights the shift in EV design philosophy. Tech-first experiences are now just as important as performance.

How It Stacks Up

While Tesla once offered Steam support in its higher-end models, that feature was later removed. With Afeela’s integration of PlayStation Remote Play, Sony is tapping into its gaming roots to offer something unique and useful—especially for passengers on long drives or parked while charging.

The Future of EV Entertainment

Sony and Honda aren’t just building an EV. They’re creating a new digital lifestyle on wheels. The Afeela EV brings entertainment, innovation, and mobility into one seamless experience—putting the power of PlayStation in your driveway and beyond.

Now, every drive has the potential to be an adventure—on the road and on-screen.
