Lexus Finally Electrifies the ES
Lexus is taking a major step forward. For 2026, the ES sedan arrives with its first-ever fully electric models. At the same time, a new hybrid version is on the way. This dual approach gives buyers more flexibility as the brand expands its electrified lineup.
The new ES isn’t just an update—it’s a complete transformation for one of Lexus’ most important models.
Two EV Models, Two Personalities
Lexus introduces two electric variants. The ES 350e focuses on efficiency with front-wheel drive, while the ES 500e adds all-wheel drive and more power.
The 350e delivers up to 307 miles of range, making it competitive in the luxury EV segment. Meanwhile, the 500e boosts performance with dual motors and quicker acceleration.
Both models use the same battery, mounted low in the chassis to improve balance and cabin space.
Bigger, Sleeker, More Premium
The 2026 ES grows in size. It’s longer, wider, and more spacious inside. As a result, passengers get more legroom and comfort, especially in the rear.
Design also takes a leap forward. Inspired by Lexus concepts, the sedan features sharp LED lighting, a cleaner front end, and a more aerodynamic profile. Inside, the cabin blends minimalism with luxury materials and ambient lighting.
Tech Takes Center Stage
Lexus loads the new ES with technology. A 14-inch touchscreen and 12.3-inch driver display lead the experience. The system feels faster, cleaner, and easier to use.
In addition, over-the-air updates keep features fresh. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto come standard, along with advanced voice controls.
Faster Charging, Smarter Driving
Charging gets easier. The ES supports fast charging, reaching 10% to 80% in about 30 minutes under ideal conditions. It also adopts the NACS charging port, expanding access to more stations.
On the road, the updated Lexus Safety System+ 4.0 adds smarter driver assistance and more natural responses.
Luxury Meets Flexibility
Pricing starts around $47,500, positioning the ES as an accessible luxury EV. Meanwhile, high-end trims add features like massaging rear seats and advanced sound systems.
Why This Matters
Lexus is no longer easing into electrification—it’s committing. By offering EV and hybrid options on the same platform, the ES reflects where the market is heading.
Luxury buyers now expect choice. Lexus is finally delivering it.
