Xiaomi Doubles Down on Its EV Play
Xiaomi has unveiled the next-generation SU7, signaling a serious push deeper into the EV space. The updated electric sedan arrives in three versions—Standard, Pro, and Max—bringing improvements in design, performance, and in-car tech.
Pricing starts at around RMB 219,900, positioning it competitively in China’s fast-moving EV market.
Familiar Design, Sharper Execution
At first glance, the SU7 keeps its signature look. However, Xiaomi refined key details. New paint options, updated wheels, and a cleaner front design give the car a more premium feel.
The sedan remains large and spacious, with a long wheelbase that supports both comfort and presence on the road. Meanwhile, subtle aerodynamic tweaks improve efficiency and overall driving dynamics.
Interior Goes Full Premium
Step inside, and the changes become more obvious. Xiaomi redesigned the cabin with higher-quality materials and a more balanced layout.
Soft-touch surfaces cover most contact areas. Ambient lighting stretches across the interior, creating a more immersive feel. In addition, upgraded seats offer better support, heating, ventilation, and even massage functions on higher trims.
Tech also plays a central role. A refreshed infotainment system connects seamlessly with Xiaomi’s wider ecosystem, linking the car with smartphones and smart home devices.
Performance and Range Take a Leap
Under the surface, Xiaomi focused heavily on efficiency and power. The new SU7 lineup delivers up to 902 km of range (CLTC), placing it among the longest-range EVs in its class.
Acceleration is equally strong. The top version can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in just over 3 seconds. At the same time, fast charging allows significant range recovery in minutes rather than hours.
Smarter Driving, Powered by AI
Xiaomi also upgrades its driver assistance systems. A new computing platform processes data faster, improving response times and awareness.
The system uses a mix of cameras, radar, and LiDAR to understand surroundings. As a result, it supports smoother navigation, smarter parking, and more advanced safety features.
Voice controls now go further, allowing drivers to manage key functions without touching the screen.
Safety Gets Serious Attention
Safety remains a core focus. The SU7 uses a reinforced body structure with high-strength materials and multiple airbags as standard.
Battery protection has also been enhanced. The system is designed to handle extreme conditions while maintaining stability and safety.
Why It Matters
With the new SU7, Xiaomi is no longer experimenting—it’s competing at scale. The mix of long range, strong performance, and deep tech integration shows clear ambition.
This isn’t just another EV launch. It’s a statement about where Xiaomi wants to go next.
