Honda Drops the Price of Its Electric SUV
Honda just made a bold move in the EV market. The company has cut $7,500 from every Prologue electric SUV sold in the United States. The change took effect on April 1 and applies to both vehicles already on dealer lots and new ones arriving soon.
As a result, the Prologue now starts at $41,395, making it far more competitive in today’s electric SUV market.
Honda says the price adjustment reflects changing market conditions. EV demand softened after the federal $7,500 EV tax credit ended last fall. Therefore, Honda decided to bring the incentive directly into the vehicle price.
New Pricing Across the Entire Prologue Lineup
The price drop affects every trim level of the electric SUV.
Here is how the updated pricing now looks:
- Prologue EX (FWD) – starts at $41,395
- Prologue Touring (FWD) – starts at $46,695
Both front-wheel-drive versions deliver up to 308 miles of driving range, making them practical daily EVs.
Buyers who want extra traction can upgrade to dual-motor all-wheel drive. These versions still deliver strong range and improved performance.
- Prologue EX (AWD) – $43,495
- Prologue Touring (AWD) – $48,495
Even with AWD, the Prologue maintains up to 294 miles of range, keeping it competitive in the midsize EV SUV segment.
The Elite Trim Sits at the Top
At the top of the lineup sits the Prologue Elite. This model comes standard with all-wheel drive and starts at $51,895 after the price cut.
The Elite offers the most features but slightly less range. It delivers 283 miles on a full charge.
However, it remains the most premium version of Honda’s electric SUV.
A Key EV Model for Honda
The Prologue currently stands as Honda’s main electric vehicle in the U.S. market. It shares its underlying platform with the Chevrolet Blazer EV, thanks to Honda’s partnership with General Motors.
Despite the shifting EV landscape, the Prologue performed well last year. Honda sold 39,194 units in 2025, making it the sixth best-selling electric vehicle in the United States.
Meanwhile, Honda continues to evaluate its long-term EV strategy after recently pausing several next-generation electric models planned for U.S. production.
Still, with this major price cut, Honda clearly wants the Prologue to stay competitive as the EV market evolves.
