Cadillac’s Escalade IQL: The Longest SUV Ever

Cadillac’s Escalade IQL: The Longest SUV Ever

Cadillac is taking its flagship electric SUV to new lengths—literally. The Escalade IQL is an extended version of the Escalade IQ, offering more cargo space, extra passenger room, and a longer body. This all-electric luxury SUV isn’t just big—it’s officially the longest SUV ever produced, whether gas or electric.

Bigger and Better

At 228.5 inches long, the IQL is 1.5 inches longer than the gas-powered Escalade ESV and 4.2 inches longer than the standard IQ. It also beats other large three-row EVs, including the GMC Hummer EV SUV (206.7 inches) and Rivian R1S (200.8 inches).

One of the most noticeable design changes is the boxier rear end, which replaces the sloped design of the standard IQ. This allows for more cargo space and improved practicality, making it easier to load luggage and maximize storage.

More Space for Passengers and Cargo

The extra length isn’t just about size—it’s about comfort. Third-row passengers get 4 additional inches of legroom (now 36.7 inches) and 1 inch of extra headroom (now 38.2 inches). That means more space to stretch out, making long rides more enjoyable.

Cargo capacity also gets a boost. With the third-row seats up, the Escalade IQL offers 24.2 cubic feet of storage, compared to 23.7 cubic feet in the standard IQ. Folding the seats down expands that to 75.4 cubic feet, plus an additional 12.2 cubic feet in the frunk (front trunk). This extra space makes the IQL a practical choice for families, road trips, and those who simply want more room.

Powerful Performance and Fast Charging

Despite its larger size, the Escalade IQL maintains the same 205kWh battery pack, delivering an impressive 460-mile range. Cadillac also ensures fast charging—gain 116 miles of range in just 10 minutes with a 350kW DC fast charger. This makes long trips more convenient, reducing downtime at charging stations.

Price and Availability

The Escalade IQL starts at $132,695, including destination fees. Production begins in mid-2025 at GM’s Factory Zero in Detroit.

With its massive size, long range, and luxury features, the Escalade IQL is built for those who want the ultimate electric SUV experience—without compromise.
