Fiat’s Tiny $14K EV Lands in America

Fiat is bringing one of Europe’s smallest electric rides to the U.S., and the price may grab attention fast.

The all-electric Fiat Topolino is now available to order in America with a starting price of $13,995. However, buyers also need to add a mandatory $990 destination fee, which brings the effective starting cost to $14,985 before taxes and registration.

This Is Not a Normal EV

The Topolino looks like a tiny city car. Still, it does not fit the same category as a regular passenger vehicle.

Instead, Fiat positions it as a quadricycle designed for short trips, tight streets, campuses, resorts, and communities where low-speed vehicles already make sense. So, this is not a direct replacement for a compact car or a daily freeway commuter.

A Small Battery for Short Rides

Fiat gives the Topolino a 5 kWh battery pack. That delivers up to 46 miles of range, which fits its local-use mission.

Power comes from an 8-horsepower electric motor. In standard form, the Topolino reaches a top speed of 19 mph.

Later this year, Fiat plans to offer a Low Speed Vehicle conversion kit at no added cost. With that kit, the Topolino can reach 25 mph. That may allow it on public roads with posted speed limits of 35 mph or lower, depending on local rules.

Tiny Size, Useful Features

The Topolino measures just 99.6 inches long and weighs 1,073 pounds. Even so, Fiat includes a digital gauge cluster, USB-C port, built-in phone holder, and a 2.3 kW onboard charger.

A full recharge takes about four hours.

Buyers can choose a hardtop version with doors or the Dolce Vita model, which swaps doors for rope openings and creates a more open-air feel.

Why It Matters

The Topolino will likely appeal to golf communities, beach towns, resorts, universities, and neighborhood users who want a simple electric runabout.

It will not come to Canada for now. In the U.S., though, Fiat may have found a small EV niche that regular cars no lon
