New Name, New Interface
Ford has officially renamed and overhauled its smartphone app. What was once called FordPass is now simply branded as Ford. And this isn’t just a cosmetic update—it’s a functional upgrade that improves how drivers interact with their cars remotely.
Whether you drive a full EV or a plug-in hybrid, the new interface is designed to be more intuitive, cleaner, and faster to use. Even Lincoln owners are getting a similar refresh with their renamed Lincoln app.
Faster Climate Control, Better Charging Screen
Climate settings are now easier to access than ever. A new “Climate” button on the main screen lets drivers control cabin temperature, seat heaters, and the heated steering wheel—all with fewer taps.
For EV and PHEV drivers, the Energy tab got a major upgrade. A large charging slider is now front and center, while important charging stats appear up top. Lower on the screen, drivers can set preferred charge times, departure schedules, and more.
Managing multiple vehicles is easier, too. Each car can now be nicknamed, with the name clearly displayed in the app’s top-left corner during use—even while charging.
Smarter Alerts, Same Features You Love
Ford also revamped its notification system. Important messages and alerts are now stacked and prioritized, so users see the most critical updates first.
The new Ford app retains all existing features. That includes lock screen widgets, Apple Watch support, and the ability to schedule over-the-air software updates. And yes—Dark Mode is available (on iOS only for now).
Rolling Out Now
Version 6.0.0 of the new app is live globally on iOS, with version 6.1.0 already rolling out for performance tweaks. On Android, the redesigned app launched via the Play Store on October 23.
This update proves Ford is serious about making the EV experience smoother—right from your pocket.
