Genesis Makes EV Charging Effortless
Genesis is taking a bold step forward in making electric vehicle ownership more convenient than ever. With the launch of two new features—in-app charging and Plug & Charge—the brand is eliminating some of the most frustrating pain points EV drivers face on the road. No more hopping between apps, swiping cards, or wondering whether a station is compatible. These new tools bring everything into one seamless Genesis experience.
In-App Charging Now Available in the MyGenesis App
Owners of the 2026 Electrified GV70 and the upcoming 2026 GV60 can now manage their entire public charging journey directly from the MyGenesis app. That includes searching for stations, navigating to them, activating charging sessions, and paying—all without ever pulling out a wallet or switching between apps.
Here’s what drivers can now do in-app:
- Search for nearby charging stations
- Send charger locations directly to the car’s infotainment system
- Start and monitor charging sessions
- Add a credit card via Genesis Pay and complete payments seamlessly
- Plan routes with dynamic EV charging stops built in
These updates significantly reduce friction for EV drivers by centralizing everything into one app. Whether you’re on a short trip or a multi-state drive, charging is now easier to manage than ever.
Plug & Charge Brings True One-Step Charging
Genesis also introduced Plug & Charge for eligible EVs, starting with the same two models. Once enabled through the MyGenesis app, the vehicle communicates directly with compatible chargers. Just plug in, and the car automatically begins charging while handling payment behind the scenes—no smartphone or card needed.
Setup is simple: activate in-app charging and configure Plug & Charge in the app. After that, charging becomes a truly hands-free experience.
Looking Ahead
Genesis has confirmed plans to expand both features across its EV lineup. As more charging providers adopt these technologies, Genesis drivers will benefit from an increasingly streamlined experience—no matter where the road takes them.
Charging, once a hurdle, is becoming a highlight.
