Genesis Goes Wild with the GV60 Magma

Genesis Turns Up the Heat with the GV60 Magma

The Genesis GV60 Magma is no longer a concept — it’s headed for production. This performance crossover marks the brand’s boldest step into the high-powered EV space. With aggressive styling, 650 horsepower, and track-tuned features, this is Genesis with a new attitude.

Supercar Power, SUV Practicality

Underneath, the GV60 Magma shares its platform with the Hyundai Ioniq 5 N. It boasts dual electric motors that deliver 601 hp normally and 641 hp in Boost Mode — available for 15 seconds when extra punch is needed. Torque peaks at 582 lb-ft, enough to launch it to 124 mph in just 10.9 seconds. Top speed? A thrilling 164 mph.

Drift Mode, Virtual Gears, and Hot Lap Tech

Genesis is clearly leaning into the “fun-to-drive” experience. The GV60 Magma features:

  • Virtual Gear Shift (VGS) to simulate shifting
  • Drift Mode for rear-biased power slides
  • High-Performance Battery Control (HPBC) for optimized battery temps during hard driving
  • This EV isn’t just about straight-line speed — it’s built to be playful.

Wider, Lower, Sharper

Visually, the Magma edition stands out with 21-inch forged wheels, a functional rear wing, and a stance that’s 20 mm lower and wider than the standard GV60. Large monoblock brakes and recalibrated suspension improve grip and comfort.

Subtle Luxury Inside

Inside, Genesis blends suede-like Chamude, orange stitching, and a Magma Mode interface showing G-force, motor temps, and more. It’s performance, but polished.

Magma Mode: Performance Meets Play

Genesis didn’t just build a fast EV — they built an experience. The GV60 Magma introduces a bespoke “Magma Mode” on the digital cluster, displaying G-forces, motor temps, and battery status in a racing-inspired layout. It’s more than a gimmick — it makes you feel connected to the machine in a way few EVs do. For drivers who want feedback, flair, and focus, this mode delivers all three.

Launching Soon

The GV60 Magma lands in South Korea in early 2026, with U.S. and European launches later that year. Range and battery size haven’t been confirmed, but expect specs similar to the Ioniq 5 N’s 84 kWh pack and ~221-mile range.

Genesis is officially in the performance EV game — and it’s not holding back.
