Kia EVs Now Plug Into Tesla’s Supercharger Power

A Big Step Forward for Kia Drivers

Kia EV owners just got a major upgrade. After a brief delay, the EV6, EV9, and Niro EV models have officially gained access to Tesla’s Supercharger network across the U.S. This move instantly adds more than 21,500 fast-charging ports for Kia customers, making long-distance travel and daily commutes easier than ever.

Access to Tesla’s network means more reliable charging options at higher speeds, helping drivers spend less time waiting and more time moving. It marks a major milestone in making EV ownership more practical and stress-free.

More Chargers, Less Range Anxiety

Before this update, Kia drivers could access about 22,000 public fast-charging stations nationwide. Now, with Tesla Superchargers available, they can tap into over 40,000 charging points across the country. This massive expansion dramatically reduces range anxiety for Kia owners and opens new travel possibilities in areas once limited by fewer chargers.

Tesla’s Supercharger network is praised for its reliability and easy-to-use design. Although other networks like Electrify America and EVgo are improving steadily, Tesla still leads the way when it comes to speed, uptime, and customer satisfaction.

How It Works for Kia EV Owners

New model year 2025 EV6s and 2026 EV9s come with the Tesla-designed North American Charging Standard (NACS) ports built in. Owners of older EV6, EV9, and Niro EV models can use a simple NACS-to-CCS adapter to connect at Superchargers.

Finding a charging location is easier too. Through Kia’s infotainment system and smartphone app, drivers can view Supercharger availability, monitor real-time status, check pricing, and navigate directly to stations. A quick enrollment through the Kia app is required to activate Tesla network access.

Expanding the EV Ecosystem

The Tesla Supercharger network now supports 11 major car brands, including Ford, GM, Hyundai, and Mercedes-Benz — with more on the way like BMW, Honda, and Volkswagen.

For Kia customers, gaining access to the country’s best fast-charging network is a major leap forward. Road trips, city drives, and daily errands are about to get much simpler and a lot more exciting.
