Kia’s Electric Sedan Hits the Stage
Kia has revealed its all-new EV4 at the New York International Auto Show, and it’s already getting serious attention.
This is Kia’s first global electric sedan, and it aims to bring more drivers into the EV world. With a bold design, smart technology, and a price tag that undercuts Tesla’s Model 3, it has the potential to make waves—if the price holds.
Two Batteries, One Mission: Range That Works
The EV4 comes in three trims: Light, Wind, and GT-Line. You can choose from two battery options:
- A 58.3kWh version with about 235 miles of driving range
- An 81.4kWh version offering up to 330 miles, depending on conditions
Both versions charge fast, hitting 80% in under 31 minutes with a DC fast charger. Kia is also using the NACS port, making it easier to find charging stations.
Packed with Tech, Designed for Daily Life
Step inside, and the EV4 greets you with nearly 30 inches of screen space, running Kia’s new connected infotainment system. You get wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and even YouTube streaming while parked.
The cabin also features i-Pedal 3.0, letting you drive with one pedal—even in reverse. Plus, Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) means you can power laptops, lights, and more directly from the car.
Safety, Comfort, and High-Tech Perks
Safety features come standard. Kia includes lane assist, forward collision warnings, adaptive cruise control, and more. There’s also a Remote Smart Parking Assist, letting the car park itself in tight spots.
Comfort isn’t forgotten either. The EV4 includes ventilated seats, smartphone key access, and ambient lighting with 64 color options.
The Pricing Curveball: Tariffs
Here’s where things get complicated. The EV4 will be built in South Korea, and new U.S. import tariffs may kick in by the time it ships in early 2026.
That could push the expected $37,000 base price higher and affect eligibility for incentives. For now, the EV4 looks like a strong option—but buyers should watch for pricing changes.
