Android Auto Arrives for Lucid Drivers
Lucid just rolled out a long-awaited feature for Android users. With its latest over-the-air update, Lucid OS 2.7.0, all Lucid Air vehicles now support Android Auto—both wired and wireless.
Until now, only Apple CarPlay users had full smartphone integration. But with this update, Android owners finally get their turn behind the digital wheel.
Seamless Smartphone Integration
Owners can now access Google Maps, music streaming, messaging apps, and more, all displayed on the Air’s striking 34-inch “Glass Cockpit”. Android Auto transforms the infotainment experience by syncing familiar features right into the dashboard.
Dr. Jean-Philippe Gauthier, Head of Software Engineering at Lucid, said the update reflects the brand’s commitment to convenience: “Android Auto is one of the most requested features by Lucid owners. This update builds on our promise of a seamless, uncompromising user experience.”
Here’s What You Need
To use the feature, drivers need a phone with Android 9.0 or newer and an active data plan. Wireless Android Auto works with phones running Android 11 or higher. Older models can still connect via USB.
The update is now available across North America and Europe. Setup instructions are live in Lucid’s online knowledge center for those looking to get started quickly.
Next Up: Lucid Gravity
Lucid also confirmed that Android Auto will be available in the upcoming Gravity SUV, expected to launch soon. It’s clear the company is aligning its tech stack across future models—ensuring Android and Apple users get equal access.
A Win for Android Users
This update closes a major gap in Lucid’s infotainment system and levels the playing field for Android fans. As Lucid pushes forward with tech-focused luxury, Android Auto support is more than a checkbox—it’s a big usability upgrade.
