Lucid Motors is making a strategic move to attract Tesla owners with a limited-time $4,000 discount on its luxury Lucid Air EVs. The promotion, running until March 31, 2025, is designed to lure Tesla drivers who may be considering a switch. Unlike traditional trade-in programs, this offer doesn’t require Tesla owners to give up their car—they simply need to show proof of ownership.
How the $4,000 Discount Works
Lucid’s offer is split into two parts:
- $2,000 off the purchase of an in-stock Lucid Air from inventory.
- Another $2,000 off for simply proving ownership of a Tesla, without any trade-in needed.
In addition, owners of select gas and hybrid vehicles from legacy automakers can qualify if they choose to trade in their car. However, when it comes to EVs, Tesla is the only brand eligible for this proof-of-ownership discount.
Lucid Follows Polestar’s Playbook
Lucid isn’t the first to target Tesla owners. Last month, Polestar successfully launched a $5,000 Tesla conquest offer for the Polestar 3, which helped drive record-breaking orders. Lucid hopes to replicate that success by tempting Tesla owners with longer range, luxury design, and high-performance features.
Which Lucid Air Models Qualify?
Lucid has several models eligible for the discount:
- Air Pure – Starts at $69,900, offering 420 miles of range and 430 hp.
- Air Grand Touring – Over $120,000, featuring 512 miles of range and 819 hp.
- Air Sapphire – Not included in this promotion.
