Lucid Gravity X: The Luxury EV Built for the Wild

A Bold Pebble Beach Debut

Lucid Motors has taken its luxury SUV lineup off the beaten path with the reveal of the Gravity X concept. Unveiled at a private Pebble Beach event, the SUV will make its public debut at the 74th Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance on August 17. This marks Lucid’s boldest step yet into the adventure EV space.

Blending On-Road Luxury with Off-Road Muscle

Built on the Lucid Gravity Grand Touring platform, the Gravity X is designed for explorers who want refinement without losing rugged capability. Lucid describes the model as an SUV that blends range, power, and versatility while keeping true to its luxury DNA.

Equipped for the Wild

The Gravity X gets redesigned fascias to improve approach and departure angles, along with a wider track and lifted suspension. All-terrain tires, skid plates, and integrated tow hooks confirm its off-road intent, while the SUV’s sleek profile maintains Lucid’s aerodynamic advantage. It’s rugged, but still unmistakably Lucid.

Rugged Refinement Meets Style

Designers added bold orange accents against a unique Astral Drift satin finish, while brushed metal fascias deliver a tactile, premium touch. Subtle details make the Gravity X stand out: topography maps of Big Sur and Death Valley etched on the hood, plus custom sill plates with Pebble Beach coordinates to mark its debut.

Inspired by California Adventures

Lucid says the design channels California’s diversity, from coastal highways to desert trails. This inspiration reinforces Gravity X as more than a luxury EV—it’s a statement SUV aimed at adventure seekers who don’t want to compromise on style.

The Bigger Picture for Lucid

The Gravity SUV is central to Lucid’s growth strategy, and the Gravity X showcases what the company wants its brand to represent: cutting-edge technology paired with real-world capability. By entering the off-road EV market, Lucid positions itself against rivals like Rivian, Jeep, and Mercedes.

For now, the Gravity X is a concept, but its debut signals Lucid’s ambitions: to redefine electric adventure vehicles and expand beyond urban luxury.
