Hyundai IONIQ 6 N Hits LA with Track-Ready EV Muscle
Hyundai just unveiled its most aggressive electric vehicle yet — the IONIQ 6 N — at the LA Auto Show. With up to 641 horsepower, drift mode, and a virtual gear shift system, this high-performance EV is built for both daily driving and all-out track days.
Built to Corner Hard
The IONIQ 6 N features a reworked suspension, electronically controlled dampers, and a lower roll center. These changes translate to better grip, high-speed stability, and sharp cornering. An electronic limited-slip differential boosts traction, while wider tires and motorsport-inspired aerodynamics add serious downforce.
Straight-Line Speed Meets Driver Engagement
With N Grin Boost, the EV hits 641 hp for 10 seconds and rockets from 0–60 mph in about 3.2 seconds. Hyundai’s N e-Shift mimics gear changes, and N Active Sound+ adds synthetic engine notes for a visceral experience. Add in N Drift Optimizer and N Track Manager, and you’ve got a full performance toolkit at your fingertips.
Race Tech, Everyday Comfort
While it dominates on the track, this EV still delivers on daily driveability. The Electronically Controlled Suspension adapts on the fly, offering comfort in the city and precision on twisty roads. SmartSense driver assists help keep things safe.
Interior, Customization, and Charging
Inside, you’ll find bucket seats, Alcantara trim, and a performance-themed cockpit. You also get N-specific displays and shift lights.
The center console is redesigned for better driver focus, with intuitive access to performance features. Even the seating position has been optimized for track-ready posture and visibility.
With a 350kW charger, the 84kWh battery recharges from 10–80% in about 18 minutes.
The Verdict
The IONIQ 6 N blends speed, control, and daily usability in a way few EVs can. It’s not just Hyundai’s boldest electric yet — it’s a sign that performance EVs are entering a new era.
