Mitsubishi just unveiled the Elevance concept at the 2025 Japan Mobility Show. It’s bold, futuristic, and packed with ideas that could shape the next Outlander—or even revive the Pajero. But this isn’t just another EV prototype. The Elevance is a quad-motor plug-in hybrid that also powers your campsite.
Four Motors, One Smooth Ride
This SUV features two in-wheel motors up front and two traditional drive units in the rear. Mitsubishi’s advanced Super All-Wheel Control (S-AWC) lets each motor send precise torque to each wheel. That means more grip on dirt, snow, or twisty roads.
Even more impressive? The rear motors enable Active Yaw Control, which stabilizes the ride to help reduce motion sickness—a win for passengers and road-trippers alike.
Hybrid Power, Camping Ready
A large battery powers the Elevance’s motors, while a high-efficiency gasoline engine acts as a backup generator—possibly running on carbon-neutral fuel. While Mitsubishi hasn’t confirmed if the gas engine connects directly to the wheels, it hints at an extended-range EV layout, like the Jeep Wagoneer S.
What sets this concept apart is its camping ability. The Elevance can power a trailer with a built-in shower and kitchen—no noisy generator needed. When parked, the Elevance also supports external charging for electric gear, making it a true off-grid companion.
Futuristic Cabin, AI Included
Inside, you get seating for six across three rows. The front seats rotate 180 degrees to create a lounge-like feel. A massive dash-spanning screen and an LCD steering wheel display amp up the tech factor.
An AI Co-Driver helps suggest destinations based on your habits, blending tech with adventure.
