Mitsubishi’s New Eclipse EV Delivers Big Range, No Hype

Mitsubishi's New Eclipse EV Delivers Big Range, No Hype

A New Eclipse, Reimagined

Mitsubishi has unveiled its all-electric Eclipse Cross EV, offering up to 370 miles of range on the European WLTP cycle. It’s the brand’s boldest EV move yet—and one of the first major results of the Nissan-Renault-Mitsubishi alliance. Built in France at Renault’s ElectriCity plant, this EV marks a major milestone in Mitsubishi’s electrification strategy.

Big Range, Fast Charging

Under the hood—or floor—the Eclipse Cross EV packs an 87 kWh battery paired with a 160 kW motor (about 215 hp). It offers 220 lb-ft of torque and supports 150 kW DC fast charging, taking the battery from 10% to 80% in roughly 25 minutes. While it’s no dragstrip destroyer, it’s quick enough for everyday driving and long-range capable for real-world travel.

Tech That Actually Helps

Inside, drivers get a clean, driver-focused layout with a 12.3-inch vertical infotainment screen, Google built-in, and wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto. A Harman Kardon sound system, four drive modes, and remote vehicle access via app round out the user-friendly experience. Plus, firmware over-the-air (FOTA) updates keep the tech current without visits to the dealer.

Safety as Standard

Mitsubishi equipped the Eclipse Cross EV with 20 advanced driver assistance systems, including MI-PILOT for highway cruising and Rear Cross Traffic Alert. With constant monitoring from sensors and radar, it’s well prepared for everyday traffic and tricky parking situations.

A Practical, Electric Reset

This isn’t a hype machine or a luxury halo car—and that’s its biggest strength. The Eclipse Cross EV isn’t chasing superlatives. Instead, it offers solid range, quick charging, everyday usability, and well-rounded tech. It’s the kind of electric crossover the average driver can get behind.

Mitsubishi hasn’t confirmed a U.S. release yet, but dealers stateside should be lining up to get it. Because sometimes, good enough is exactly what drivers need.
