From Track Star to Tech Marvel
Porsche isn’t just dipping its toes in electric. It’s diving in—and fast. The brand that brought us the high-performance Taycan is now adding more all-electric models to its fleet. And yes, they still drive like a Porsche.
The Taycan remains the electric flagship. It’s sleek, brutal on the track, and unapologetically expensive. Updates for 2025 improve both range and charging speed. It’s fast in every sense—from zero to sixty to full battery.
Macan Goes Electric (But Not Alone)
For drivers who want a Porsche without the six-figure hit, the new Macan Electric is stepping in. It keeps the familiar shape but underneath, it’s an entirely new machine—built electric from the ground up.
Range estimates land between 288 and 315 miles, and the price starts at $77,295. Not cheap, but less “supercar” and more “daily flex.”
Incredibly, the Macan Electric already made up 44.6% of Macan sales in Q1 2025. That’s no small feat.
Still want gas? You’re not out of luck. In the U.S., the gas-powered Macan sticks around—for now. It’s a carry-over from the last generation, but it’s still an option.
A Fully Electric Sports Car Is Coming
The big news for purists? Porsche is working on an all-electric 718, the next-gen Cayman and Boxster. It’s been delayed due to battery supply challenges, but it’s now expected to launch in 2026.
Performance is key here. Porsche knows its audience. If it doesn’t feel like a 718, it won’t fly.
Porsche’s Power Dilemma
Porsche fans love engines—especially ones that growl. So while the brand is pushing EVs, it’s also doubling down on gas. The 911 will offer hybrid power soon, but keeps its classic flat-six engine.
For Porsche, electrification isn’t a replacement. It’s an expansion. If you want to go electric, there are more options than ever—and they’re as fast and fun as you’d expect.
