Nissan is gearing up for a major transformation with a wave of new and refreshed models, cutting-edge EVs, and next-generation hybrid technology set to roll out in North America over the next two years. From the redesigned Nissan LEAF to the brand’s first plug-in hybrid, here’s what’s coming soon.
A Fresh Take on the Nissan LEAF
The legendary Nissan LEAF is getting a dramatic upgrade, shifting from a compact hatchback to a sleek, family-friendly crossover. Built on Nissan’s CMF-EV platform (the same as the Ariya), it promises better range, improved aerodynamics, and a more spacious design. For the first time, the North American version will feature a NACS charging port, giving it direct access to Tesla’s Supercharger network.
Hybrid & Plug-In Power for Popular SUVs
Nissan is expanding its hybrid offerings with the launch of the third-generation e-POWER system, set to debut in the next-gen Rogue SUV in 2026. This new hybrid technology promises 15% better fuel efficiency at high speeds, lower emissions, and a quieter, more refined ride.
Additionally, Nissan’s first plug-in hybrid in North America will arrive soon in the form of a Rogue PHEV, providing drivers with more powertrain choices in one of the most competitive SUV segments.
More Models Coming Soon
Nissan and INFINITI are preparing over 10 new and updated models for the U.S. and Canada, including:
- New Nissan Sentra – A fully redesigned compact sedan.
- Refreshed Pathfinder – A mid-size SUV update.
- New INFINITI QX60 & QX80 – Luxury SUV refreshes, plus a QX65 coupe-style crossover launching in 2026.
- All-New Nissan EV SUV – Production starts in 2027 in Canton, Mississippi, followed by a luxury INFINITI EV SUV in 2028.
Driving the Future
With new EVs, hybrid tech, and more diverse powertrain options, Nissan is making bold moves to stay competitive in North America. Will these changes be enough to shake up the market? Time will tell, but Nissan is clearly ready to fight for its place in the future of electric mobility.
