Record Sales, Big EV Moves for Kia

Record Sales, Big EV Moves for Kia

Kia Sets All-Time Sales Record in March

Kia America just wrapped up its strongest March and first quarter ever. With 78,540 units sold last month, the brand achieved a 13.1% year-over-year increase, continuing a six-month streak of record-breaking performance.

Across Q1, Kia sold 198,850 vehicles, a 10.7% jump from the same period in 2024. Helping lead the charge was the all-new K4 sedan, with consistent sales growth since its debut in August.

SUVs Are Driving the Surge

Kia’s key SUV models crushed it in March:

  • Carnival sales soared 53%
  • Telluride jumped 17%
  • Sportage climbed 11%

All three hit their highest monthly sales totals ever. These numbers reflect both high demand and improved supply, giving dealers more inventory and customers more choices.

EV Production Picks Up in the U.S.

Kia’s EV strategy is also gaining traction. Full-scale production of the EV6 and EV9 is now underway at Kia’s West Point, Georgia plant. VP of Sales Operations, Eric Watson, says this move will help accelerate EV growth with better supply and U.S.-focused offerings.

Adding to that momentum, Kia celebrated the grand opening of its $7.59 billion Metaplant America facility, which will eventually support 8,500 jobs. It’s the largest economic development deal in Georgia’s history.

More Wins: Safety and Smart Tech

Two key models, the 2025 Telluride and 2025 EV9, just earned IIHS Top Safety Pick+ honors. The Telluride snagged the award for the third straight year. Meanwhile, Kia also announced V2H (Vehicle-to-Home) capability for the EV9 through Wallbox’s new Quasar 2 bi-directional charger—available now for pre-order.
