Tesla Adds Automations and Smarter Dashcams in China

Tesla Adds Automations and Smarter Dashcams in China

Smarter Software Rolls Out in China

Tesla is testing a major new software update—version 2025.45.32.1—in China. While not yet public, leaked release notes reveal exciting changes focused on intelligence, customization, and convenience.

Personalize Your Drive with Tesla’s New Automation App

A standout addition is Tesla’s new Automation app, giving drivers the ability to create custom behaviors tied to specific events.

For example, your Tesla can now deliver a voice reminder when the door opens and you’re seated—helping you remember belongings or tasks. These smart automations can also adapt based on time, location, or vehicle status.

It’s Tesla’s first real step toward user-programmed routines, turning everyday habits into effortless in-car experiences.

Dashcam Storage Adapts to You

Another key improvement is dynamic dashcam storage. The system now scales video retention based on your USB drive’s capacity.

A 128GB drive can store up to 3 hours of footage. With 1TB or more, that jumps to 24 hours before older clips are overwritten. This means better documentation for road trips, parking incidents, or insurance claims—without guessing how much is saved.

Music, Maps, and Voice Control Get Smarter

Entertainment gets a boost, especially for Chinese users. Tesla adds KuGou Music, karaoke-style accompaniment modes, and smoother lyric animations.

Navigation has also improved, with clustered Supercharger map icons that make dense areas easier to read. Plus, “Hey Tesla” voice activation is now more responsive for hands-free control.

Coming Soon to Global Markets?

While exclusive to China for now, these upgrades reflect Tesla’s broader shift toward intelligent, personalized mobility. As history has shown, it’s only a matter of time before global drivers benefit too.

A Look Into Tesla’s Next Phase

This update may seem small on the surface, but it signals a shift in Tesla’s software strategy—from reactive features to proactive intelligence. Giving users more control over behavior, storage, and interaction makes the driving experience feel less mechanical and more intuitive.

With each update, Tesla isn’t just refining a car—it’s building a smarter ecosystem that adapts to your life.
