Zoox Launches Public Robotaxi Rides in Vegas
After years of hype and months of test runs, Zoox’s fully autonomous robotaxi is now live and rolling on the Las Vegas Strip. Starting September 10, anyone can book a ride—completely free—through the Zoox app (available on iOS and Android).
This launch makes Zoox the first-ever company to offer a fully autonomous ride-hailing service using a purpose-built robotaxi. Not a retrofit, not a test. This is the real deal.
Why Vegas? Because It’s Always On
Las Vegas attracts over 40 million visitors a year. From clubs to conferences, everything is extra—and now, so is your ride.
With Zoox, your trip from Resorts World to AREA15 or Topgolf becomes part of the experience. The carriage-style seating is designed for group vibes, conversations, and comfort. It’s the only place in Vegas where you can chill and charge—without touching a steering wheel.
How to Ride for Free
To ride, just download the app and pick from a list of destinations. Zoox has partnered with key hot spots to create dedicated pick-up/drop-off zones, complete with on-site Concierges ready to help you out.
The app shows your robotaxi’s license plate, estimated arrival, and even lets you rate the ride. Got questions? Zoox support is just a tap away inside the app.
Built from Scratch, Eleven Years in the Making
Zoox was founded with a bold goal—to rethink personal mobility by designing a new type of vehicle from the ground up. Unlike others that retrofit existing cars, Zoox took the slower, more ambitious route: build everything from scratch.
Co-founder and CTO Jesse Levinson said, “The idea for Zoox was never to make a car drive itself; it was about creating an entirely new mode of transportation.”
San Francisco’s Next—Get on the Waitlist
Vegas is just the beginning. Zoox is headed to San Francisco next. Sign up in the app to join the waitlist—and get ready to ditch the driver there too.
