First Look: The Screen Is the Star
Mercedes-Benz has revealed the high-tech cabin of the next-gen GLB, and it’s all about the screen. The new Superscreen stretches across the entire dashboard, echoing the look from the GLC EV. Circular vents bookend the display, while a few physical buttons remain on the floating center console.
The cabin also gets a redesigned floating center tunnel with cupholders and an optional wireless charger. The door panels now feature a concave design, creating more storage and a sleeker look.
Cold-Tested for the Real World
Before its full reveal on December 8, the GLB EV is undergoing extreme cold-weather testing in Germany. Mercedes runs it through blizzards, wind blasts of up to 124 mph, and simulated speeds of 165 mph—all inside its climate lab.
And it’s not just for show. The GLB’s cabin heats up twice as fast as the old model—even faster than some gas vehicles. It uses 50% less energy than the EQB, thanks to a new triple-source heat pump. This smart system draws heat from the drivetrain, battery, and air, keeping passengers warm without draining range.
More Room, More Comfort
The GLB EV comes standard with five seats but offers an optional third row to seat up to seven. There’s more legroom in the second row and extra headroom up front. A new panoramic roof with a starlight effect adds flair—and can switch from clear to opaque at the press of a button.
Luxury Meets Logic
From the panoramic starlight roof to the floating center console, everything inside the GLB EV feels smart and premium. This isn’t just a compact SUV—it’s a rolling lounge with cutting-edge tech. It’s designed to wow at first glance and feel intuitive every day.
What’s Next?
So far, Mercedes is only talking about the electric version, but gas and hybrid options are expected too. Full specs, range, and pricing will drop on December 8—but it’s already clear: the 2027 GLB EV is here to impress.
