Polestar is giving its best-selling model line more room to grow.
The Swedish EV brand has confirmed a new Polestar 4 SUV, with sales scheduled to begin on September 2. The model builds on the Polestar 4 coupé, but shifts the formula toward more everyday usefulness. For buyers who liked the design but wanted extra flexibility, this may be the version to watch.
A More Practical Polestar 4
The new SUV variant keeps the sharp look of the Polestar 4 family. However, it adds more versatility for daily driving, road trips, and family use.
Polestar says the SUV brings expanded storage and a more flexible layout. That matters in a segment where EV buyers increasingly want performance without giving up cargo space. As a result, the new model could appeal to drivers who want an electric SUV with a cleaner, more design-led personality.
Range and Power Stay Strong
Polestar is not positioning this as a softer version of the 4.
Rear-motor variants can deliver up to 630 km of WLTP range. Meanwhile, dual-motor versions can produce up to 544 hp. Those figures place the Polestar 4 SUV firmly in premium electric SUV territory.
Additionally, Polestar says the SUV and the latest Polestar 4 coupé both receive retuned chassis components. The goal is a more refined ride while keeping the sporty feel that defines the brand.
Why This Launch Matters
The move comes as electric SUV demand keeps shaping the global EV market. Buyers want range, speed, comfort, and space in one package. Therefore, Polestar’s decision to expand the 4 line makes sense. It also strengthens Polestar’s growing SUV push.
The Polestar 4 SUV will be built in Busan, South Korea. It will also reach most Polestar markets.
The Bigger Picture
Polestar now has a broader product ladder, with the Polestar 2, 3, 4, and 5 in its lineup. More models are also planned, including a compact SUV later this decade.
For now, the Polestar 4 SUV gives the brand a more practical entry in one of the hottest EV categories.
