On October 18, BYD officially launched its Seal 06 GT, a pure electric hatchback that is part of the brand’s Ocean series. Priced between 136,800 and 186,800 yuan (approximately $19,300 – $26,300), this new model will make waves in the EV market with its attractive design and impressive specifications.
The Seal 06 GT is available in four trims and offers both rear-wheel drive (RWD) and all-wheel drive (AWD) options. With CLTC cruising ranges of 505 km, 550 km, and 605 km, the vehicle caters to diverse driving needs. Built on BYD’s e-Platform 3.0 Evo, the Seal 06 GT measures 4630 mm in length, 1880 mm in width, and 1490 mm in height with a wheelbase of 2820 mm.

- Battery options: 59.52 kWh or 72.96 kWh, providing ranges of 505 km and 605 km, respectively.

BYD Seal 06 GT Design Features
The design of the BYD Seal 06 GT is both striking and functional. The vehicle features a low-lying closed grille complemented by a narrow, elongated headlight group. A honeycomb-shaped lower grille ensures effective heat management. The rear design showcases a layered aesthetic, with wavy-shaped taillights that echo the Ocean series theme. Consumers can choose from four vibrant exterior colors: black, gray, green, and pink (with an additional cost of 2,000 yuan or $281).
Safety is paramount in the BYD Seal 06 GT, featuring the DiPilot 5 intelligent driving assistance system. Depending on the trim level, it includes
- six or twelve ultrasonic radars,
- five millimeter-wave radars,
- four panoramic cameras,
- and one smart driving camera, offering 16 driving assistance capabilities like forward collision warning, blind spot monitoring, and parking assistance.
The interior is equipped with BYD’s DiLink 100 smart cockpit, featuring a 12.8-inch or 15.6-inch rotatable central control screen, a 10.25-inch full LCD instrument panel, and options for a panoramic sunroof and ambient lighting.
