The 2026 Cherokee rides on Stellantis’ STLA Large platform. This architecture already underpins the new Wagoneer S, Jeep’s first fully electric SUV, which offers around 300 miles of range.
That means the Cherokee has serious EV potential. While Jeep has officially confirmed a new hybrid version, the company hasn’t closed the door on a full battery-electric option. So far, they’re promising a “powerful and efficient” hybrid, but EV fans are watching closely.
Modern Design, Classic Jeep Toughness
The redesign brings a fresh edge. Expect a reworked seven-slot grille, slimmer LED headlights, and a cleaner overall shape. It’s clearly a sibling to the updated Grand Cherokee, which blends utility with upscale appeal.
Unlike the Grand Cherokee, which offers two- and three-row seating and plug-in hybrid options, the Cherokee might be Jeep’s first midsize SUV to go fully electric. The size and platform make it a perfect candidate.
