Hyundai EVs Now Charge at Tesla Superchargers

Hyundai Expands Fast-Charging Options for EV Owners

Hyundai is making EV charging easier than ever. Starting today, U.S. owners of select Hyundai EVs can access over 20,000 Tesla Superchargers using a complimentary NACS adapter. This move nearly doubles the number of DC fast-charging stations available to Hyundai drivers, significantly improving charging convenience.

Who’s Eligible for a Free NACS Adapter?

Owners of the following Hyundai EVs purchased or leased on or before January 31, 2025, can claim a free CCS-to-NACS adapter:

  • KONA Electric
  • IONIQ Electric (Hatchback)
  • IONIQ 5
  • IONIQ 6
  • 2025 IONIQ 5 N

Eligible customers will receive an email from Hyundai starting April 7, 2025, with instructions on how to claim their adapter.

How to Claim Your Free Adapter

Getting your Hyundai’s NACS adapter is simple:

  1. Check your eligibility – You must own a qualifying Hyundai EV and have an active MyHyundai owner’s account with email notifications enabled.
  2. Watch for Hyundai’s email – Starting April 7, eligible customers will receive an email to verify their vehicle and shipping details.
  3. Confirm and claim – If the information is correct, click “Yes, the above information is correct”, and Hyundai will ship your adapter.
  4. Update shipping if needed – If your address is incorrect, update it on MyHyundai.com and wait for a new email to complete the process.
  5. Receive your adapter – Hyundai will send a confirmation email with tracking details once your adapter ships.

Customers must claim their adapter within 60 days of receiving the email invitation.

Built-in NACS Ports for Future Hyundai EVs

The 2025 IONIQ 5 and all future Hyundai EVs will come with native NACS ports, eliminating the need for an adapter. These vehicles do not qualify for a free adapter, as they will have direct access to Tesla Superchargers.

Hyundai’s Commitment to EV Growth

Hyundai is pushing EV adoption further by:

  • Offering best-in-class charging speeds
  • Expanding U.S. EV and battery production in Georgia
  • Developing IONNA, a high-speed charging network for EV drivers
  • Providing discounted charging rates and home charging incentives for customers

With this new adapter program, Hyundai EV drivers gain seamless access to one of the most extensive fast-charging networks in the U.S.
