MG Enters the Big League at Goodwood
MG isn’t playing it safe anymore. At the 2025 Goodwood Festival of Speed, the brand unveiled two groundbreaking electric vehicles: the MG IM5 sedan and MG IM6 SUV. Designed to push boundaries, these models carry MG’s new “Intelligence in Motion” identity—and show the brand’s bold leap into premium tech territory.
Big Range, Fast Charging, Blistering Speed
The IM5 Long Range model offers up to 441 miles on a single charge, thanks to a 100 kWh battery on an 800V platform. Charging from 10 to 80% takes just 17 minutes. Performance? The IM5 rockets from 0 to 62 mph in 3.2 seconds, while the larger IM6 SUV isn’t far behind at 3.5 seconds.
Both feature Hurricane electric motors, advanced digital chassis systems, and all the sporty energy MG fans crave.
Tech-Packed Interiors with Serious Wow Factor
Inside, the IM models offer a full tech showcase. A 26.3” HD infotainment screen, paired with a 10.5” touchscreen, dominates the sleek cabin. Audiophiles will love the 20-speaker setup, including four ceiling-mounted “Sky Speakers.”
You’ll also find a Rainy Night Mode, One-Touch Park Assist, rear-wheel steering, and double-layer laminated glass for true premium quiet. Even tight city corners are no problem with a tight 9.98-meter turning circle.
Prices and Powertrains for Every Driver
The IM5 starts at £39,450 ($51,000) for the 75 kWh Standard model, rising to £48,495 ($62,700) for the top Performance trim. The IM6 SUV begins at £47,995 ($62,100) and climbs to £52,995 ($68,600) for the Launch Edition. Both come with single- or dual-motor options.
Cyber Style and Rally Revival
MG also flexed its design muscles with the Cyberster Black, Cyber X concept, and the wild MG EX4 rally tribute. From deep-black sparkle paint to rally-bred powertrains, MG showed it’s not just building EVs—it’s shaping the future of electric performance.
