Polestar EV
The Polestar electric vehicle line is Volvo’s newest advancement toward a more environmentally friendly and sleek style.
Polestar 1
In 2019, Volvo released its first subsidiary plug-in electric hybrid vehicle line, the Polestar 1. However, the Polestar 1 was a limited run of only 39,000 cars sold before 2022. Since then, the Polestar 1 has been discontinued. The legacy car’s resale value sits at around $150,000.
As Volvo’s first stab at a hybrid vehicle, on a single charge in pure electric mode, the Polestar 1 achieves 77 miles, the farthest range of any hybrid car using only the battery. By utilizing the 16-gallon tank, the Polestar 1 reaches a range of 470 miles!
Polestar 2
Springboarding off the Polestar 1, Volvo’s Polestar 2 blows 1 out of the water! Except for this time, the Polestar is going full electric.

The Polestar 2 features a premium Slate and Charcoal interior style, with a patterned upholstered embossed textile. In addition, this electric car features high-performance audio throughout the cabin. The Polestar 2 is also the world’s first car with Google built into the display interface.
We highly recommend watching this YouTube video on the Polestar 2. The video by Asian Petrolhead works well to go over a myriad of content about the Polestar 2 and compares it to the Kia EV6. With the video, you can see a thorough walkthrough of the car and a detailed impression of how it drives!

Both DC and AC charging work with the Polestar 2. With the Polestar app, you can customize the duration, charge current, max charge level, etc. The AC charging cord is 7 meters long with fast charging capabilities.
Safety and Assistance Features
This EV features radar and camera assistance, inner-side airbags, and a car structure meant to absorb energy to protect the cabin and battery. The Polestar 2 also features recognizable and subtle sounds, letting pedestrians know when the car is approaching!
How Often Is Service Needed?
The Polestar 2 features remote diagnostics and over-the-air software updates. Typically, the Polestar 2 will need general maintenance every 20,000 miles, which is about every two years. When purchasing a Polestar 2, you will get three years of free maintenance.
